IMPROVED FC5000/FC4500 Logging Software Now Available
August 20, 2008
Improved Electrical Conductivity, HPT, MIP, and MIP vs. Time software is now available for your FC5000 and FC4500 Direct Image® Field Instrument.
Get the most from your FC5000 and FC45000 Direct Image® Field Instrument by installing the latest release of logging software from Geoprobe® Systems, available on the Instrument Updates page.

After downloading and saving the file to your computer extract the files using WinZip which will create 10 files in the directory you specify see the README document for detailed installation instructions. ALL STEPS MUST BE COMPLETED to assure proper installation and instrument functionality.

EC, HPT, MIP, and MIP/T software have all been updated to provide you the highest level of performance from your Field Instrument. Here is a list of a few of the improvements you can expect from the improved software. (For a complete list of updates read the FEATURES document included with the download.)

  • Improved Probe Isolation testing.
  • Eliminated System lockup when external compact flash not installed.
  • Eliminated software lockup when log is canceled after instrument tests.
  • User notified if MIP data is not being received from the MIP controller.
  • MIP/T software now saves Electrical Conductivity readings vs. time. This feature incorporates EC QA/QC into your standard pre and post log response test. (See Figure 1 below.)

You must download Direct Image Viewer v 1.1 to take advantage of Electrical Conductivity readings being saved in your response test data. Direct Image Viewer v 1.1 is compatible with all versions of Field Instrument software, previous versions of Direct Image Viewer will not graph EC data saved during response testing. Direct Image Viewer v 1.1 is available on the Software page.
